They left him there to rot, not knowing that as the predators drew closer, he had already accepted his fate. He'd give his flesh to the wolves, whispering in the devil's tongue like his mother had taught him, embracing the pain in exchange for power.

When they were done devouring his body, when the cold hands of death had him in his grasps, he arose anew as the forests keeper.

Traveling with the fog ever since, hunting down whoever dares to enter his domain, turning them into prey or forcing them to join his hounds. Just like the people that had wronged him.
